Snow

Hard packed snow and freezing conditions continue to cause cancellation of classes at Grennan College. The hazardous conditions prevailing in the school yard and grounds present a serious threat to student and staff safety. Despite a minimal thaw the school car park remains inaccessible while the hard surface areas are covered in a minimunm of 3 to 4 inches of hard packed snow-covered ice. In addition, piles of frozen snow/ice present a serious hazard to student safety in the event of students engaging in throwing snow balls. These clumps of ice/snow are razor -sharp and have the potential to cause serious injury if thrown.

In an effort to compensate for time lost due to the recent weather conditions and to maximise remaining teaching time there will be no Christmas Tests for 3rd and 6th Year students. (Mock exams will be held in Feb). Other classes will be given shortened tests during normal class times. Meanwhile students should continue to study/revise during this unavoidable school closure.
