In memory of, and, to mark the 100 year anniversary by date of the first executions of the 1916 Easter Rising, a set of mounted 3D face masks in the likeness of the Rising leaders on a backdrop of the Irish Tricolour, with a quote of their last words are unveiled in the school today – 3rd May 2016. These have been designed by Transition Year and 5th Year students and led by Ms. Kett (Art Teacher). On each centenary anniversary date, the relevant sculptors will be unveiled and their names added to the Scroll of Remembrance. These will form part of the permanent display in the school, in recognition of these historic times in Ireland’s growth, development & independence.
